Abstract calligraphy

(2020, ba student)

Our final project in calligraphy class was to explore abstract calligraphy and lettering, inspired by textures found in the real world, using both positive and negative space. My contribution was a three-part poster series inspired by the texture of coffee beans. Each poster is built up of individual sets of words related to coffee, and also painted with coffee mixed with black ink for better coverage.
