A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships

(2019, ba student)


My task was to design the cover of a chosen music album. I decided to go for A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships by The 1975. Given the ongoing theme throughout the album, I wanted to honor the pc-revolution by making one of the most iconic pcs – ibm 5150 – the main star of the concept.

Process

I based my entire design concept around the computer. First, I took tactility related to the computer, such as metallic stickers, and rough plastic surfaces. I used these when designing my own labels and the vinyl sleeve. I then based the cover photo design on how many pixels the monitor was able to display height- and length-wise.
